Jim Maas, story teller

Stories of whimsy and intellect

His name is Luca

I met him just today.

He will grow to be his own man,

He’ll define his own way.

Will he be a good man,

It’s still just too soon to say.

We’ll be there at his side

as he grows to help him along,

to teach and to guide him

to show him right from wrong.

Will he walk thru the flowers

or fly among the stars?

Will he like math and science,

or working on old cars.

will he spend his time in church

or will you find him in a bar?

will he stay near his home or

will his life take him afar?

will he have a wicked curve ball,

or will a fastball be his pitch?

will he play because he loves it

or only to get rich?

will his art come out as music,

or a painting on a wall?

will it be only for his lover,

or be given to us all.

His name is Luca,

I met him just today.

Who I am,    there is beauty in art

 I write because I can’t not.

I write stories because I do.

I write poetry because I must.

I write music because I have to.

I draw  and paint because….

I create………..
